Apple releases iOS 12.1 and you can have it all for free. iOS 12 was better but iOS 12.1 is best. Why so?
Security updates, screen time tools and some other features, were all in iOS 12. But with iOS 12.1, your iPhone and iPad can get even more better.
Newly released iOS 12.1 update now gives you more ways to express yourself on your iPhone. With Group FaceTime, you can chat with up to 32 friends and family. You can also spice up your messaging life with 70 new emoji. And interestingly, this sweet software update is totally free. Here’s how you can get it.
1. Secure Your Data
This should be the first thing you do. Make sure all of your data is backed up and in doing this, you will probably need more than just iCloud. Why? It is because, iCloud can only save your basic information, like contacts and notes.
To back up information like Touch ID and Apple Pay settings, use iTunes on your Mac or PC. And for novice, here is how to use iTunes (follow the simple steps below)
Step 1: Connect your device to a computer
Step 2: Open iTunes
Step 3: Select the device icon in the top bar, or in the sidebar
Step 4: Click “Back Up Now.”
2. Free Some Space
Installing a new operating system on your iPhone can take some space, so it’s wise to clear up some before installing. Delete some apps, photos and videos you no longer need to free up some storage space.
3. Charge the Device
Your device needs to be charged in order to download and install a new operating system. Plug your device into an outlet and connect to Wi-Fi.
4. You are Good to Go
You will get a notification once iOS 12.1 becomes available for download. Roll-out has already started, and just in case you miss the notification (or instinctively hit “Later” to keep watching that YouTube video), don’t sweat it. Head to Settings > General > Software Update to start downloading
