WhatsApp fingerprint authentication feature that is coming soon would protect users’ chats from being seen by others. The authentication once it is activated will be required for users to open the app.
This new information was reported by WAbetaInfo. It is a fan site that tests new WhatsApp features early and according to the site, the feature is currently under development. And will soon be available for all OS users.
“After working to implement Face ID and Touch ID features on iOS (that aren’t available yet for development reasons), WhatsApp has finally started to work on the Authentication feature on Android, using your Fingerprint!” said the
report on Tuesday.
How To Activate WhatsApp Fingerprint Authentication Feature
To activate this feature is very easy and task free. The fingerprint authentication feature will be available within the WhatsApp. Here are the steps;
Step 1 – Go to Settings
Step 2 – Enter Account
Step 3 – Click on Privacy and that’s all.
According to the report from WAbetaInfo, once you enable the fingerprint feature, WhatsApp will be completely protected from others to be seen.
“The user will need to authenticate his identity in order to open WhatsApp (from the app icon, from the notification or from external pickers). It will protect the entire app, so it’s not used to lock specific conversations,” the report added.
