Huawei 5G could face a ban in Germany. The Chinese tech company has a bad reputation in America and in some part of western Europe. However, Huawei relationship with these countries got worsen when the company’s employee was arrested in Poland for his alleged spying on the country’s government.
Based on security concerns, the German government may be forced to ban Huawei from providing 5G equipment in the country.
Although the German government has not yet come to a final conclusion yet on what to do, but here is a statement issued by The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy:
“The security of the future 5G network is of high relevance to the Federal Government. The Federal Government will be guided by this in connection with the establishment of a future 5G network.”
New Zealand and Australia Banned Huawei 5G Network
Australia and New Zealand have banned the telecommunications giant from supplying 5G equipment in their countries citing security concerns. And asides from both countries, US and U.K have since gave a warning concerning huawei equipments.
U.S. intelligence officials have advised consumers not to buy Huawei phones over concerns they could be used for spying. Spying (security concerns) has been the primary reason why many Countries are no longer interested in Huawei products.
These restrictions placed on Huawei by Countries like US, UK, Australia, New Zealand etc. would be a big blow for Huawei, which is the world’s largest supplier of telecoms network equipment.
