Active Internet Subscribers Grew in Q4 2018; MTN Gained over GLO, Airtel

The number of active internet voice subscribers and data subscribers in Nigeria have witnessed a growth of about 8.3%.

In terms of highest number of subscribers in active voice per State in Q4 2018, Lagos, Ogun and Kano States leads while Bayelsa and Ebonyi State have the lowest number of subscribers.

In the same way, Lagos, Ogun and Kano States also have the highest numbers of data subscribers (active internet users).

PERIOD: 2018 Q2 (April – June)

NUMBERS OF VOICE SUBSCRIBERS:  162,522,772

NUMBERS OF ACTIVE INTERNET SUBSCRIBERS: 103,514,997


PERIOD: 2018 Q3 and Q4 (July – September) and (October – December)

NUMBERS OF VOICE SUBSCRIBERS:
172,824,239 and 162,032,481

NUMBERS OF ACTIVE INTERNET SUBSCRIBERS: 112,065,740 and 106,420,858

MTN has the highest share of both voice subscription and internet subscription and followed by GLO, Airtel and EMTS.
